Viennas Tram Tracks

How could one easily use public-service infrastructure in an alternative way? While Vienna's tram tracks are used by public transport during the day, they stand empty at night and raised the question of an alternative use. After an evening at café wellmann, the idea of a railway-soapbox was born and sketched out.

How it works

A standard Euro pallet, which has been extended to the central European rail dimensions, four block rollers and four track holders result in the base frame of a rail-compatible soap box with space for two people. A mechanical brake as well as electric lighting enhance safety and improve the driving experience.
